The Buller District Council has resolved to begin consultation on the proposal to lease out the recreation reserve which is the site of the Punakaiki Beach Camp.
If leased, the site will remain as a reserve and will continue to be a camp ground. The proposal is to lease the reserve to an operator to construct, develop, control and manage the camp ground rather than contracting an operator as is done currently.
Under section 120 of the Reserves Act 1977 any person or organisation may object against or make a submission on the proposal.
Submissions or objections on this proposal must be completed either online by clicking here or on the prescribed form and sent to Buller District Council, PO Box 21, Westport 7866 or delivered to Council’s office at Brougham Street, Westport. Submissions and objections will be received until 4.30pm Tuesday 25 October 2011.
Consultation forms can be collected from the Paparoa National Park i-SITE Visitor Centre, Buller District Council office in Westport or by clicking the document below.
