Council services

The purpose of local councils is to promote the well-being of our communities. One of the ways we do this is by providing services for residents in our district. These services range from being able to borrow books from the library, putting out your rubbish for collection, applying for a building permit or getting water from the tap.

Local authorities receive much of their funds through rates, fees and charges. These funds are then used to provide or subsidise services that benefit the community and district, working to help provide a sustainable and quality way of life.

Buller District Council is committed to maintaining and improving the well-being of the people of Buller. We carry out a wide range of activites to help do this. This part of our website gives you information on the services that council provides.
