Outward Bound Scholarship

Each year, the Buller District Council calls for applications from Buller youth for the Sue Thomson Casey Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship meets the cost of attendance at Outward Bound's Mind, Body and Soul course.

The scholarship is aimed at young people aged from 16-18 years old, and is focussed towards leadership potential rather than acedemic ability. Persons with a disability are not excluded from applying; Outward Bound can cater for most personal circumstances in regard to physical or intellectual disabilities. Participants will leave with a strong sense of personal repsonsibility, independence and motivation. The course is aimed at challenging your limits, enabling you to discover what is important to you, and show you the opportunity your future holds.

We are calling for applications for the 2010 scholarship now. Applications close August 13 2010.

If you would like further information on the scholarship, download the information pack below. All applicants who apply for the scholarship receive an interview, from which the successful candidate is selected.
